Name[]
Originally at its inception, the company was called "Marcus Orelias Music" which is seen at the end of the "Since 1993" music video. It was later changed to something more "marketable". According to the company's official website. The company name is an acronym that comes from Marcus Orelias's first studio album, Rebel of the Underground released June 21, 2013, except for the word, "rebel" is made plural as "rebels": Rebels of the Underground World, the "underground" referring to "underground" media. The company name is also stated to be a reference to the 1991 Tupac Shakur song of the same name which was interpolated on Orelias's first album.
In August of 2022, the music department, R.O.T.U. Records was renamed to be R.O.T.U. Worldwide.
Mascot[]
The R.O.T.U. World mascot was in fact a baby wolf and often mistaken for a cat.[1] This is confirmed on the official R.O.T.U. site in mailing list section, the description reads "Join Our Wolf-Pack"[2], referring to the wolf in the logo. The mascot was retired in 2023 when a new logo was unveiled.

R.O.T.U. Experiences[]
R.O.T.U. World host "events" usually celebrating the release of a product and invite the immediate community to it. This practice dates back to 2013 for Marcus Orelias’s debut album, Rebel of the Underground. A year later following the release of Marcus Orelias's debut album, venues opposed booking a smaller act so the historic Buriel Clay Theatre was rented out and performed in by indie artist hand chosen by R.O.T.U. World, the event almost selling out.[4]
